A Road to Go: The Accessible World Tour
Exploring cultures and adventures without barriers
The project A Road to Go came to life in Brighton in 2018, born from the meeting of Lidia and Andrea, a couple of backpackers passionate about travel and adventure. Andrea lives with osteogenesis imperfecta, a condition that requires him to use a wheelchair. After exploring the world on their own, they decided to join forces and embark on an extraordinary adventure together: a world tour without limits.
This journey is much more than just a trip; it is an opportunity to prove that every dream can become a reality, even in the face of challenges.
With the goal of visiting five continents in six months and using local transportation, A Road to Go aims to inspire people to pursue their dreams and travel beyond all barriers.
What Is A Road to Go
A Road to Go is a project that embodies creativity, courage, and determination, born from the passion of Lidia and Andrea, a couple of backpackers in love with travel and adventure. This project represents the true spirit of backpacking: traveling with a backpack, ready to forgo some comforts to fully immerse in local cultures and reach their destinations.
With Andrea living with osteogenesis imperfecta, A Road to Go seeks to demonstrate that accessibility is never a barrier but rather an invitation to explore creative solutions.
Every person is unique, and every disability comes with specific challenges; for this reason, Lidia and Andrea aim to show that it is always possible to find a solution, even when the path is uncharted.
“Every journey is proof that barriers can be overcome and that every dream is within reach.”
The journey of A Road to Go is an adventure across the world, filled with extraordinary places and unforgettable experiences:
South Africa – Between breathtaking landscapes and the vibrant culture of Soweto, this experience highlights the contrasts and beauty of the country.
Australia – Aboard their van “Vanlentino,” Lidia and Andrea embarked on an epic journey, exploring the Great Barrier Reef and the Outback, encountering wildlife and a passionate vanlife community.
Japan – A dive into a fascinating culture, characterized by a perfect balance of tradition and innovation, with super-accessible trains that make every trip a unique experience.
Hawaii – Andrea fulfilled his dream of surfing, participating in a world championship for surfers with disabilities, while Hawaiian culture captivated them with its beauty and hospitality.
Argentina – Traveling across this vast country using public transport, Lidia and Andrea explored the stunning Iguazu Falls and the wild nature of Patagonia, facing challenges related to the climate and daily life.
